Nine Inch Nails has announced Ilan Rubin to the lineup, who will replace Josh Freese, who is parting with the band at the end of their current North American leg of the tour. They recently invited him out to rehearse with them and blew them away, convincing them that he is the perfect guy to pick up the sticks after Josh leaves.

Mike Wengren, drummer of Disturbed, has come out with a signature series drumstick. They sticks are nicely weighted and durable, perfect for a hard-hitting drummer. They’re finished in a black stain, with artwork featuring Disturbed’s album logos.

Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora is set to write the soundtrack for the upcoming Hollywood action movie, “The Tournament”. With Bon Jovi, they’ve been writing new songs, are currently mixing a live DVD of last year’s Lost Highway concert tour, and are planning on doing a greatest hits album next year. They’re also looking ahead to 2009, when Bon Jovi become eligible for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler pleaded no contest on Friday to a heroin possession charge in the hopes of avoiding jail time by entering a treatment program. Adler was fired from the band over drug problems in 1990 and hopes to reunite with his old bandmates, his dream being that after he gets sober, they’ll accept him into the band and then do a comeback album and a world tour.

In River Falls, Wisconsin 24-year-old Kyle Drinkwine allegedly became so incensed by a lackluster karaoke performance of Dio's Holy Diver, that he assaulted the singer and a second man. He claims he went after James Mischler quote "over one's ability to sing karaoke". Do you know any great karaoke singers? Maybe he's just a Dio diehard.

Lars doesn't like people stealing his music because he needs the cash for really important things! The drummer for the band Metallica has won a 1982 painting by artist Jean Michel Basquiat by bidding $14 million at an auction in New York City. He's come a long way from living off baloney sandwiches!

Thankfully this tour has already come through Milwaukee and Chicago, but Another Black Day has announced that due to reasons beyond their control, they will no longer by continuting on their current tour with Five Finger Death Punch. They apologize for the drop off, but promise to make up for it ten fold with a killer show.

Motley Crue has just announced that they will follow up this summer's Crue Fest amphitheater tour with an arena trek starting in February. Their 25 city + jaunt will feature support from Hinder, Theory of a Deadman, and the Last Vegas. Tickets will range from $25-$75 and will begin to go on sale November 21st. They'll be rockin' the Metro Centre in Rockford February 15th.

Mitch Mitchell, the innovative drummer who anchored the Jimi Hendrix Experience, has died at the age of 62 due to natural causes. The London native had completed an 18 city American tour as a featured performer with Experience Hendrix, a series of concerts celebrating the legacy of Jimi Hendrix featuring an all-star line-up of artists including Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Brad Whitford of Aerosmith, Robby Krieger of The Doors, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, and many more. He will be missed.

Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis' 2004 autobiography "Scar Tissue" is set to be adapted for a new TV show on HBO. It is set to be an offbeat comedy focusing on the singer's early life in Los Angeles, where he lived with his father, a drug dealer to musicians in the area, as well as the LA rock scene.

Ozzy Osbourne is looking for a foul-mouthed 7-year-old to play him in a TV show. Fox has ordered 6 epidsodes of The Osbournes: Loud and Dangerous, an hour long variety show to be hosted by Ozzy, Sharon, Jack and Kelly Osbourne. The plan is to blend music with comedy sketches, as well as gameshow, audience participation, and out-of-studio taped elements and should be shown as a Christmas special. If you have any kids that fit the part, Ozzy's lookin' for ya!

We haven't heard from Flyleaf in awhile, but frontchick Lacey Mosley says that her voice is healed and back to 100% and are currently working on writing new songs, heavily influenced by Korn and Shinedown. They will hit the studio no later than January, to begin working on a new album, a follow-up to their 2005 self-titled debut.
